Health Benefits of Brazilian Jiu
Jitsu
Aside from the obvious plusses, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu also offers many health benefits to its participants: cardio exercise, improving physical strength, speed, and flexibility. Keep in mind that with these benefits come much pain during practices, as the technique relies on throwing, holding, and twisting of opponents.
If you are willing to take on the pain, concentrate, and work hard, you will learn how to escape, hold, and make counter moves to your opponents—which may include street criminals, outside of practice, that could have threatening weapons like knives or guns.
Once you have your training under way, you will be presented opportunities to move up in belt class. Each belt class requires a different set of skill level, but if you fail to pass on to the next color the first time, you have a chance to practice what you missed and take the test again.
